Strathspey Dance Database

Part of the international community built around the strathspey mailing list created by Anselm Lingnau, the dance database lets you search for dances to inspire your class. You can read cribs, see the Pilling diagrams and event watch videos for dances in the database.  You can also generate program lists with Pilling diagrams and cribs for events that you orgainse.

Scottish Dance Archives

This site lists dances from the Donald Collection at the Central Library in Edinburgh; this was established by Roy and Gill Clowes and Robert and Maimie Donald.  The site has online instructions for many dances and information on steps and exercises.

TAC Books

In Feb 2014 TAC books has nearly 800 books related to  Scottish Country Dancing listed on its online store.  With books from around the world, TAC books is an essenital resource for SCD teachers everywhere.

Teacher’s Association (Canada)

The Teachers’ Association (Canada) was formed in 1958 to help teachers of Scottish Country Dancing in Canada to support each other.  TAC now has members from around the globe, runs a Summer School and organises Candidate Classes in North America.
